Impact Insider is an online news media that publishes constructive journalism about how to measure and achieve social impact.
The organization was founded in 2022 by Carsten Terp on the slogan Good Money Well Spent, foregrounding the need to maximize the positive effects of the resources we invest in solving social problems.
We bring together perspectives from civil society, government, and business with a mission to highlight how diverse actors can work together to effect real change.
By spotlighting what works (and what doesn’t), we help to inspire foundations, governments, NGOs, and businesses to spend smarter. And drive bigger impact.
This includes finding and sharing with readers and listeners inspiring examples of e.g., innovative partnerships or business models that put impact front and center.
What we mean by impact
At Impact Insider, impact means more than just good intentions.
We define it as: Long-term changes in people’s lives and the environment, triggered by purposeful action – whether intentional or not, positive or negative.
It is, indeed, a complex field. But complexity shouldn’t be a barrier to understanding. We are here to cut through the noise and ask the necessary questions.
Who are we?
Today, Impact Insider is run in a collaborative partnership between Carsten Terp and Nikolaj Neven. Their editorial mission is to promote good solutions to difficult problems in order to help individuals and organizations fulfill their purpose and amplify their impact.
Impact Insider is a nonprofit association headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, with a full-time editor-in-chief and CEO, and a volunteer board. We operate with full editorial independence and transparency.
On the board sits Mette Rosendahl (chair), Morten Jørgensen Stald, Rasmus Grue Christensen, Pelle Pedersen, and Safiya Ismaili.
